About This Route

old rail track route all the way, very nice, very quiet. Tunnels en route are open and lit!

We took a train to Wilt from Ettelbruck - CFL double decker express - very easy with bikes (3 euros for 2 people, bikes free). At Wiltz exit the station to the main road and turn right slightly uphill. After the raod flattens off take a right turn downhill and at the bottom turn right through an i ndustrial unit. At the end of the road you are on the Wiltz cycle circuit. Turn left and this is the trail to Bastogne. On the edge of Bastogne note a road junction on the right signed for the Battle of the Bulge memorial Crossing here and bearing left will take you onto the railtrack again bypassing the town centre traffic and leading you to the southern station site/bus station. It also gives you another option to cycle back up to the Belgian border at Gouvy main line station on another old branch line.
