About This Route

Starting at the historic Westport Harbour, you’ll make your way along the Greenway, with fantastic views of Clare island and out into the Atlantic, onto the largest of Ireland’s islands, Achill Island, the lookout spot of the famous Pirate Queen Gráinne Mhaol. You’ll take in the entirety of the island, with some challenging climbs, before leaving the island and returning to Westport Harbour, where you are in for some well deserved food and a few pints!
