About This Route

Ihr Weg führt Sie durch die Ortschaften Westerende-Kirchloog, Barstede, Neu Barstede und Westerende Holzloog. Besuchen Sie doch einmal die St. Martinskirche. Das Gotteshaus aus dem 13. Jahrhundert wurde landestypisch auf einem Erdhügel, der sogenannten Warft, gebaut. Außerdem liegen die Kirche in Barstede sowie das Maria Riese Haus entlang der Route und sind einen Abstecher wert. Auch die am Kanal gelegene Gaststätte "Alter Fahnster Krug" können Sie bei einem kleinen Umweg (circa 100m) besichtigen. Sie ist aus den für Ostfriesland typischen roten Backsteinen gebaut und wie geschaffen für einen Schnappschuss fürs Urlaubsalbum.
