About This Route

Gestartet wird die Tour am Bahnhof Emden. Als erstes ging es zur Kesselschleuse. Danach wird die Ems straufaufwärts endlang des Deiches gefolgt, leider ohne den Blick auf die Ems. In Leer (Ostfriesland) verlassen wir die Ems und es geht weiter ins "Landesinnere". Genügend Verpflegung sollte man jetzt schon dabei haben, Tanken und Supermärkte ab jetzt nur noch vereinzelt

Alternativ könnte die Route auch am Bahnhof Leer gestartet werden, dann ist die Tour ca. 33km kürzer.

Anmerkung: Bin mit der Regionalbahn von Porta Westfalica nach Emden gefahren. In Rheine war Umstieg nach Emden. Eine Alternative wäre, von Minden aus mit den IC nach Rheine zufahren was nur eine Zeitersparns von 15 Minuten bringt.
