About This Route

From Prato Porta al Serraglio train station follow the direction to Vernio and Vaiano, along the Bisenzio river. This piece of route, passing from Tignamica, Vaiano, Usella and Terrigoli, is pretty busy. When you get to Terrigoli turn right following the sign to Montecuccoli. Here the road is very quiet, and steep. Pass Gavazzoli and then, after leaving the tiny village of Montecuccoli, follow the direction to Barberino di Mugello. A long and pleasant downhill will take you to Bilancino lake. Follow the road to S. Piero a Sieve, also this part of the route is quite busy. Straight ahead until you find a roundabout and take the direction to Firenze and Vaglia. Climb up to Pratolino and then down back to Firenze.
