Beach
Babja jama staroversko svetišče At the end of the village of Gorenji log, we go down to the Soča river at the end of the cart. The path is marked, it is quite steep in the last part. Near the river Soča we see the bed of the torrent and the entrance to the cave. A visit to the cave is only possible when there is no water in the bed, because during the rains huge amounts of water flow out of the cave, water gushes out of it. According to stories, the last ritual of the Old Believers in the cave was in 1920 (Book by Pavle Medvešček). Visiting the cave is only possible with a battery. The cave is not long, at its end it has an interesting chasm, completely smooth on all sides, so the water has worn it down. There are many stones in the cave, which supposedly have very strong energy. The Old Believers were also supposed to carry these stones home from the cave. A little lower, from the cave towards the Soča riverbed and almost right under the railway line, there is a very large natural cauldron. At the bottom of the cauldron are many completely polished and round stones. The embankment along the Soča is also very interesting in this part, it looks like a lunar landscape with many rocks.
