This ride starts and finishes in a quiet residential area of Waterloo. It blends some light to medium hills with farmland views, straight-aways and a traffic circle. Part of the ride has a dedicated bike lane and most of the rest is unpaved shoulder used by Mennonite buggies and bicycles.
In the timeless town of St. Jacobs, birthplace of Home Hardware, stop for coffee and a muffin at the Bakery, and then head back along the same route home.
This is a great ride for early spring training, when all the snow is cleared. Great for beginner road bike riders like my wife and I.
