Rzym - Wenecja - Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The steepest section is 10 km long. It is located in Tyrol, beyond Innsbruck, between Zirl and Seefeld. The highest point is the Brenner Pass - Brenner at 1374 m above sea level. The Brenner Pass (Italian Passo del Brennero, German Brennerpass) is one of the most important Alpine passes on the border between Austria and Italy, located at an altitude of 1374 m above sea level. It separates the Zillertal Alps from the Stubai Alps in the Central Alps.

Due to its relatively low height, the Brenner Pass serves as the most convenient transit route connecting Germany and Italy - the Austrian A13 motorway and the Italian A22 motorway.

The crossing of the Brenner has been known since ancient times. It was extensively used in the Middle Ages. In the second half of the 19th century, a railway line was built through the Brenner. Due to the ease of the connection, no tunnel construction was necessary. Currently, a road and the A13 motorway, connecting Innsbruck and Munich with Verona, pass through the Brenner. There is a railway station at the pass, and on its southern, Italian side, a small border village named Brenner, expanded during Mussolini's era to serve border and customs posts.

Since 1 December 1997, all borders of Italy with Austria are internal borders of the Schengen Area, where according to the Schengen Agreement, passport controls are not conducted, and crossing is allowed at any place and any time; therefore, there are no border crossings.
