About This Route

This is a 100km undulating course through the valley, with one large 10km+ climb up to Toolangi.

Start at Cnr Exeter Rd and Maroondah Hwy, Nth Croydon. Up Maroondah Hwy turn left at Churnside park shopping centre on Edward Rd. Strait along Edward Rd. Couple of short steep climbs. Right onto Coldstream West Rd, Left onto Victoria Rd, then Right onto Macintyre Lane, past Lilydale Airport. Left onto Melba Hwy, strait on to Yarra Glen. At Yarra Glen, Right onto Healesville-Yarra Glen Rd. This is a undulating Rd all the way to Healesville. Get a coffee in Healesville then go back the way you came into town, but veer right onto Chum Creek Rd(signs to King Lake). Follow this road all the way to Toolangi(16km). about 10km of this is a steady climb up the mountain to the top. Nothing too steap, but no breaks either. There is a Tavern at Toolangi, so you can get a drink. Once recovered, continue up road towards, Castella/KingLake direction. This undulates until you get to the junction with Melba Hwy. Turn Left onto Melba Hwy, and go strait down this very steep and fast decent to Dixons Creek. (be wary of cars/truck on this bit, as it is a bit hairy and busy). Then its a very fast undulating ride back into Yarra Glen. (maybe another coffee?). Continue allong Melba Hwy towards lilydale/Melbourne.At Coldsream yo veer right onto Maroondah hwy, then 200m later turn Right onto Coldstream west Rd, strait accross Victoria Rd, left up Edward Rd, two short sharp climbs(they hurt at this end of the ride) then Right into Paynes Rd, Left onto Lower Homestead Rd, then veer Left onto Homestead Rd, undulates back into the suburb(becomes Brushy Park Rd then Lyons Rd, but stay on same Road. left onto Exeter Rd, for the short sprint up to the shops at Maroondah Hwy. You did it. Their is an AvantiPlus bike shop on the corner, if your bike needs a service after all of that.
