Along the route of the outer green ring, we arrive at Zwenkauer Lake, a former open-pit mine that was used until 1999 and has been flooded since 2007. Bathing is planned for 2014, creating one of the last and largest renaturalized sections of Leipzig's "Neuseenland", covering 10 km².
