About This Route

Cycling tour 2010 June Nice - Pisa Together with Mildrid

Bike from Monaco airport. Great hotel - got a suite as there were few guests.

Bike to Imperia. Stopped both in Menton and San Remo. Great bike paths at San Remo. Had to look for a hotel.

Bike to Albisola. Cozy city with lots of pottery.

Bike to Genoa. Arrived in the pouring rain. Nice people. (Stayed at Hotel Porto Antico - via al Ponte Calvi 5)

Bike to Camogli. Was advised to ride a cup of coffee. We stayed there for two days. Fishing village - no traffic. Good hiking opportunities. (Stayed at Albergo La Camogliese) Quiet day in Camogli.

Bike to Levanto. Be down Portofino - great but expensive tourist destination. Long leg - including puncture.

Bike to Vernazza. Have lunch at the shore of Monterosso. Very steep hills, but great views. (Stayed at Pensione Sorriso - Via Gavino 4)

Bike to Portovenere where we were in an apartment in the center of town - rented through Hotel Genio. Were down the Manarola and we had lunch in Riomaggiore. Steepest and heaviest day so far. Difficult with hotel.

Bike to Viareggio - typical seaside resort. Ate was on the harbor of La Spezia and the bath in Lerici.

Bike to Lucca on recommendation of the receptionist at the hotel. Up in height, but little traffic. Great city.

Bike to Pisa. Stayed at great hotel - nice host.
