About This Route

John Whitton Bridge (Meadowbank) to Roundabout in Bicentennial Park - smooth bike dedicated paths

Roundabout at Bicentennial Park to Mason Park via Victoria Av Public School( Concord West)- road with painted bike signs on road. Goes through carpark with nil to low traffic (unless during school hours)

Mason Park to Pomeroy St- bike dedicated path but it's very bumpy

Pomeroy St- mid to high level traffic area. No bike infrastructure whatsoever. Traffic light at Underwood rd intersection. Uphill.

Pomeroy St Bridge (Homebush)- goes above M4. There might be construction on either ends of the bridge.

Park Road to Bridge Road- very little bike infrastructure. High traffic area as there are cars coming out of new apartments and cars going toward Parramatta Rd. Traffic light at Parramatta Rd intersection

Bridge Rd Bridge (above rail lines)- Very tight area unfit for cyclists and pedestrians. Highly consider using footpaths on this section. Alternatively you could use the Subway Lane underpass instead however this will result in a longer uphill route on The Crescent

The Crescent to Airey Park- mid to high traffic area. Be cautious of cars

Airey Park (Bates St) to Airey Park (Hampstead Rd)- Relatively smooth path. A little thin in some sections but otherwise very rideable.

Hampstead Rd to Arthur St- Brief footpath section. Cross at pedestrian crossing for safety

Mitchell Rd (beside Hudson Park Golf Course)- On road section. Uphill and gruelling. Low traffic.

Centenary Drive -Brief footpath section

Barker Rd to Ada Av (Strathfield)- On road. Low to mid traffic. Follow signs

Strathfield Golf Course to Kendrick Park (Tempe) - This is the Cook River cycleway!

The cycleway is relatively smooth and flat apart from

- a few unusually steep sections near the tennis courts at Maria St

- very safe on road section at Walsh Av

-Very tight sections around Canterbury Park Racecourse and Canterbury Rd Bridge (need to dismount, it's so god damn tight)

-Wooden Bridge at Earlwood

-Crossing Illawara Rd. If you continue on that side of the River you may encounter a dead end

-Steel Park - kids run on the cycleway

- Tempe train station- you have to ride in the carpark

-View St (on road) but cycleway marked visibly. Only traffic from residents!

Princes Highway to Marsh St cycleway- bike dedicated

Marsh St- a little unsure if they have made any upgrades to the side I usually ride on but when I went there you had to ride on the pedestrian footpath

Marsh St underpass to Kyeemagh- few on road section but other than that a decent bike dedicated path

Also if you want a good view of planes, you need to drag your bike through sand and boulders.
