Plassen Round Trip (outdooractive)

The Plassen Runde is a classic among the mountain bike tours in the Salzkammergut. The Schäferalm, the Vorderer Grubenalm and the Rossalm managed in the summer are the first highlights on the Plassen round. It follows a descent to the romantic Hallstatt before it goes uphill again to Gosau.

With the Plassen Runde mountain biker awaits us a crisp day tour in the Dachstein Salzkammergut. Two variants are available - either we drive directly to the climbs or even before a loop and admire the Gosausee including Dachstein. Around 1500 hm strong is the Plassen round. Some highlights happen on the 47 km. These definitely include the Rossalm, the Dachstein, the Plassen, the waterfalls in the Echerntal and the famous Hallstatt. Maybe you still discover one or the other personal highlight that has escaped us so far?

Option 1: Start Tourist Office Gosau. We drive to Gosaubach and further up to Steiner mill. There in several curves upwards on the gravel forest road in some huts Rossalm past direction (A trip to Plankensteinalm is worthwhile) on the forest we go down in Echerntal (asphalt beginning) to Hallstatt. There, on the main road to the intersection Hallstatt Gosaumühle. Turn left and then left again on the old way. This leads up short again and rejoins the main road. We go there until the place Gosau (Klaushof) and turn left and drive on a narrow road keeping right on the Vital Hotel back to our starting point.

Option 2: Start Tourist Office Gosau. Skip to Gosaubach. there on the right bank along to Hintertal and up to the front Gosausee. Links cautious then leads the forest up to the intersection and Grubenalm Weire towards Rossalm (contemplation is worthwhile) as in the variant 1. Great panorama on Gosaukamm in the driveway.
