About This Route

A cold and cloudy start in Ohakune but the weather cleared nicely when I got to Horopito (famous for the 'Smash Palace' car wreckers) and by the time I hit the Mangaparua Track it was sunny and warm. After a big hill climb I settled down for the night at the beautiful Johnsons campsite.
