About This Route

Wonderful route (all paved); till Grenchen is flat but it's ok to warm-up, then it starts really nice route and countryside. Most difficult part of the climb is probably 1km at 9% (around km 15, zone Kapelle Allerheiligen) then it's always mild climb around 5-7%, with wonderful view of the mountains and valleys. Km 16.5 turn right direction Montagne de Romont, then again km 18.5 turn right; there starts wonderful climb, the road is smooth and quite wide and it becomes less and less steep towards the top (at the end it's almost flat). On top, U turn and do same road downhill (take care of few fallen rocks). Second short climb at km 31 direction Plagne. At Plagne (km 34) starts the downhill: it's quite straight with no turns and you have to control your speed. VERY IMPORTANT: just after km 37, while going downhill, you must turn left from main cantonal road to narrow street Römerstrasse, you need to be very careful. All in all, wonderful route in the area.
