Die Region im Dreieck Meppen-Haselünne-Lingen wird sehr stark vom Wasser und den damit verbundenen Techniken geprägt. Die Ems, der Dortmund-Ems-Kanal , die Hase mit ihren Zuflüssen und Altarmen, aber auch die Entwässerungsgräben der Moore begegnen uns auf dieser Route fast pausenlos. Sehenswert sind die Schleuse Meppen , der Trinkwasser-Erlebnis-Pfad in der Nähe des Dorfes Schwefingen und das Speicherbecken bei Geeste.
