About This Route

Die Tour Wasser und Weite führt durch einzigartige und für Ostfriesland charakteristische Landschaftsformen. Zu Beginn geht es durch die brettebene Polderlandschaft des Rheiderlandes ins Fischerdorf Ditzum. Hier genießt man direkt am Hafen fangfrischen Fisch in einem der urigen Restaurants. Nach der Überquerung der Ems führt die Tour durch den Hammrich, eine für Ostfriesland typische Landschaft (weite Wiesen und Weiden). Auf der Weiterfahrt offenbart sich die ostfriesische Weite entlang von schnurgeraden Fehnkanälen und den Flüssen Ems, Leda und Jümme. In Leer lohnt sich ein Abstecher in die Altstadt mit dem historischen Museumshafen
