King David Hotel to En Lavan, circular route

Itinéraire à vélo à Old City, West Bank, Palestine

This route takes you from the viewpoint overlooking the Old City Walls behind the King David Hotel, across Rehavia (with Jason's tomb), past the Monastery of the Cross, towards the Jerusalem Arena and on, along Emek Refaim to along the northern side of the railway, past the Biblical Zoo and Jerusalem Aquarium to the springs at En Lavan. The return route goes to the Biblical Zoo, then south of Malcha Station to then process along the old railway line (Park HaMesila), to Yemin Moshe and Herod's family tomb. Swimming shorts and towel may come in handy for a dip in the spring. Please note: a few short sections in Rehavia go against one-way traffic, to avoid main roads and much longer routes. It is advisable to dismount and walk these short sections. The route is, in theory, all paved. In some sections along Rav Herzog road, the surfacing of the bike path is poor.

King David - Lifta - Tsofim Valley (circular route)

Itinéraire à vélo à Old City, West Bank, Palestine

The route starts in front of the King David Hotel (alternatively start at City Hall), following the tram line along Jaffa Road, to the ruins of the village of Lifta and its pool. The section down to Lifta follows a very steep footpath, and is not cyclable (except maybe by experienced offroaders ... I walked!) The route then proceeds through Arazim Valley Park, and Wadi Tsofim Park, and heads towards the tram line. The way back follows the tramline back towards the Old City, then along Heleni HaMalcha to City Hall, and on to the King David hotel.
