Set out from Edmonton’s vibrant city center and head south toward Beaumont on this roughly 64 km cycling route. Starting off, you’ll quickly leave behind Edmonton’s urban landscape—known for its stunning river valley and lively culture—and roll onto quieter roads. Most of the way is on calm routes and well-maintained cycleways, so expect a relaxed pedal with only a handful of busier junctions.

The first stretch offers a neat mix of paved surfaces. While about half the ride’s surface type is unspecified, you’ll mostly encounter asphalt and some concrete sections—nothing too rough for a standard road bike. There are a few moderate climbs here and there (with a total ascent around 367 meters), so you’ll get a bit of a workout, but it’s nothing the average cyclist can’t handle.
