Vacqueyras Vineyard Loop

A relaxed loop from Vacqueyras through classic Provence vineyards. It’s roughly 35 km with about 236 m of climbing—rolling, no big hills. Most of it cruises on quiet country roads, with a few short busy links and some farm tracks/gravel sprinkled in. Think vine rows, stone farmhouses, and views toward the Dentelles de Montmirail.

Surfaces are mainly paved, but there’s a couple of kilometers of loose gravel, so 30–35 mm tires are perfect; it’s rideable on a road bike with a bit of care. Start and finish in the village for easy coffee/water, and if you feel like a detour, nearby wine spots like Gigondas or Beaumes-de-Venise aren’t far.

Heads up: summer heat and the mistral can make it spicy—mornings are best. During harvest you might meet tractors on the lanes. Otherwise, it’s a mellow, scenic spin between the vines with just enough variation to keep it fun.
