The Hague Parks Route

A relaxed city ride linking The Hague’s best green spots. Cruise through Haagse Bos, Clingendael (check the seasonal Japanese Garden), Westbroekpark, Zuiderpark, and the Scheveningse Bosjes, with easy detours to the dunes and Scheveningen beach. It’s flat, family-friendly, and mostly on paved cycle paths and quiet streets, with the occasional compact gravel inside parks. Start anywhere — Den Haag Centraal or HS make handy gateways — and ride it as a full loop or pick shorter hops between parks. Expect plenty of cafés, picnic lawns, playgrounds, and photo stops. Dutch cycling signs make navigation simple, but a map app helps for park shortcuts. Tips: watch for pedestrians in shared sections, mind the coastal wind, and bring a lock for café breaks. Spring and early summer are lush; autumn colors are great too.
