Cycle Route 1: Prague–Brno

A classic cross‑country ride linking the Czech Republic’s two biggest cities. Roll out of Prague on riverside paths, cruise quiet suburbs, then work your way through rolling countryside and the Vysočina hills before dropping into Brno. It’s mostly smooth and paved, with long stretches on dedicated cycleways, a few pedestrian zones, and short connectors on quiet or access roads.

Good for touring bikes and comfy on 28–35 mm tires. Expect plenty of towns and villages for coffee, water, and snacks, plus loads of scenery—forests, fields, and castle views if you keep your eyes up. Wayfinding is usually straightforward: follow national Cycle Route 1 signs where posted and use a GPX in busy areas.

Logistics are easy: frequent trains run between Prague and Brno, so one‑way rides are simple. Best from spring to autumn, but it’s rideable year‑round if you dress for it. This collection may include segments and local variants, so distance can vary depending on the line you pick.
