F402 Ghent Port South

Short, flat link through the south side of the Ghent port. This F402 segment is about 2.8 km and mostly on dedicated cycleway, with a few brief stretches on road. Surfaces are fully paved (mainly concrete with some asphalt), so it rolls fast in any weather.

Built for commuting across the harbour area, it connects docks, warehouses, and northern Ghent without the usual traffic stress. Expect big-sky port views, wind off the canal, and trucks nearby, but the bike path is separated for most of the way. No climbs, minimal stops, and plenty of space—great for e-bikes and cargo bikes.

Use it as a safe connector across the port or to link into other Ghent routes. If you’re riding early or late, bring good lights—illumination can vary in industrial zones.
