F405 Cycle Highway Ghent–Lovendegem

Flat, fast link from Ghent out to Lovendegem and Zomergem (Lievegem). Part of Flanders’ F-route cycle highway network, this one sticks to paved, low-traffic streets and access roads almost the whole way—smooth asphalt, minimal fuss.

It’s roughly 10 km with virtually no climbing, so it’s an easy daily commute or a relaxed evening spin. You roll from Ghent’s urban edge into the greener Meetjesland side, with plenty of quiet sections away from busy traffic.

Great for all bikes—e-bikes, cargo bikes, kids in tow—and rideable year-round thanks to the pavement. Starting in Ghent, you can hook into other city bike routes; heading out, you reach Lovendegem and can continue toward Zomergem and the rest of Lievegem. Simple, direct, and stress-free.
