Overview
About this tour
A mellow North Shore spin from Glencoe to Wilmette on the Green Bay Trail. It’s mostly paved with a few short gravel patches, super flat, and follows the Metra UP-N line—easy to navigate and perfect for casual rides, families, or a quick commute. You’ll roll through leafy neighborhoods and town centers in Glencoe, Winnetka, Kenilworth, and Wilmette, with plenty of coffee and snack stops near the stations.
At the south end, detour to Gillson Park and the beach, or hop over to Sheridan Road for a link toward the Chicago Lakefront Trail. It’s also simple to connect in Evanston to the North Shore Channel Trail if you want to keep going. Expect a handful of road crossings and slow zones near schools and shops, but it’s low-stress overall.
Do it point‑to‑point and take the train back, or ride it out‑and‑back for extra miles. Easy, green, and very North Shore.
