Overview
About this collection
A flat, mostly traffic‑free spin along the Jubilee River between Maidenhead and Eton/Windsor. Expect smooth tarmac and compact gravel, easy riding for families and casual cyclists. It’s roughly 18 km one way, with zero real climbs and loads of wildlife—keep an eye out for herons and kingfishers around Dorney Wetlands.
Highlights: Dorney Lake (Eton’s rowing course), little footbridges and weirs, and occasional views towards Windsor Castle. The path links with NCN 61 and the Thames Path, so it’s simple to make a loop via Windsor, Eton, and Maidenhead.
Good to know: hybrids and gravel bikes are perfect; skinny road tyres are fine in dry weather. The route is shared—give space to walkers and anglers. It can flood after heavy rain, and there are a few gates and narrow bits.
Easy access from train stations at Maidenhead, Taplow, Windsor & Eton (Central/Riverside), and Datchet. Cafés and pubs are plentiful at both ends. Simple, scenic, and stress‑free—ideal for a relaxed day out by the water.
