Around Berlin Alt Route: Strausberg–Altlandsberg

A relaxed link on the east side of Berlin, connecting Altlandsberg with Petershagen/Eggersdorf and on toward Strausberg. It’s roughly 9.5 km and mostly flat, fully paved with lots of asphalt and some paving stones (plus a tiny hint of cobbles). Expect long stretches on bike paths and quiet roads, with only a very short busy section. Highlights include Altlandsberg’s historic center and the green corridors heading toward Straussee. Handy for commuters and mellow weekend spins, and it rides nicely in either direction. Easy access via S‑Bahn line S5 (Petershagen Nord/Eggersdorf or Strausberg), so you can hop on/off the train and stitch it into a longer Berlin ring ride. Watch the paving stones through the old town and keep an eye out on the brief main-road bit.
