Switzerland–Sea Cycle Route
A collection of 2 cycling routes.
Overview
About this collection
A big, punchy ride that leans into the Switzerland-to-sea vibe. Expect roughly 124 km with about 2,870 m of climbing and 2,930 m of descent—so it’s anything but flat. Most of it is paved, with some gravel and the odd cobbled stretch sprinkled in.
It’s a mixed setting: long sections on regular roads (including plenty of busy ones), about 16 km of dedicated cycleways, plus a few quieter roads and short tracks. There are tiny bits of steps/pedestrian areas where you might hop off for a moment.
This suits fit riders or tourers who don’t mind traffic and steady climbing. A road or all-road bike with 28–32 mm tires will be comfy; lights and high-vis are smart, and avoiding rush hour helps. Ride it in a solid day if you’re strong, or split it into two for a more relaxed roll.
In short: varied surfaces, real elevation, and a classic “toward the coast” feel—challenging, rewarding, and memorable.
