F33 Cycle Highway Torhout - Ostend

A fast, mostly flat ride from inland Torhout to the North Sea in Ostend. The F33 links West Flanders towns with long stretches of dedicated cycleway and a few on-road bits through built-up areas. Most of it is paved (asphalt and concrete), with a short unpaved/gravel section along the way, so it’s friendly for everyday bikes.

It works great both ways and is signposted as F33 (Fietssnelweg). Minimal climbing makes it an easy cruise for commuters, fitness rides, or a relaxed day out. Keep an eye out for busier crossings near towns and be ready for a sea breeze as you approach Ostend.

Handy bonus: there are train stations in both Torhout and Ostend, so one-way trips are simple. Roll through quiet rural stretches, finish at the coast, and reward yourself with a seaside break in Ostend.
