Barra is 145km from Oban, and is only 18km long and 10km wide, however it boasts many beautiful beaches, machair and history.Â
The island is accessed by ferries from Oban or Eriskay or by plane arriving on the beach of Traigh Mhor.

Vatersay is the most southerly inhabited island in the Outer Hebrides and has many sites of modern and ancient history which show the harsh environment of living life in the Outer Hebrides.
