Highlights
- When visiting Australia, there’s no excuse not to visit the famous Ayers Rock. The immensity, might, changing colours and the silence of the “big rock” are breathtaking. Furthermore, there is a lot to do in the  Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, for example, hikes, bike tours and guided tours.
- Bondi is considered as one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches. The route along the coast from Bondi to Coogee offers a perfect place to rest, but you can also stop for a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants and cafes.
- Tasmania is a popular cyclists’ destination. Firstly, its oceanic climate is mild and provides pleasant temperatures, secondly, Tasmania has an attractive landscape including over 3.000 kilometres of coastlines, wilderness, rain forests and national parks. Â
Tips
- Water and sun protection are a must on every bike trip! You should be aware that very high temperatures usually dominate and often, long, tedious distances need to be travelled in direct sunlight.
- Australia is a very big country, for example, England fits into Australia 60 times. Hence, the distances are very long and shouldn’t be underestimated.
- Those who want to conquer the outback should be aware that it could take very long for help to arrive in case of an accident or a breakdown. It could take several days of not encountering neither shady trees nor other people, so better befriend absolute isolation already. An outback tour is only suitable for very experienced bikers. Â
