Southern Highlands Offroad Tour (Yerinbool to Berry)
Cycling route in Colo Vale, New South Wales, Australia
A 2 day tour from the northern half of the southern highlands, through the southern highlands area, down the escarpment and finishing on the coast at Berry.

Some major features:
- rolling southern highlands back roads. Cows, paddocks, green rolling hills.
- magnificent escarpment scenery
- classic australian single track mountainbiking
- fire trails through wild Australian bush
- camping in remote bush areas
- requires a mountain bike
- The picturesque Kangaroo Valley
- does not require a car
- Country towns
- Some major ascents

This tour requires a mountain bike or similar bicycle which can travel on Eastern Australian fire trails. Note that these trails are often rocky and/or steep. A road bike will be destroyed on this tour.

The tour begins and ends at Cityrail stations, so is ridable by those without a car for transport. Bicycles can be freely taken on Cityrail trains (during morning and afternoon busy periods a ticket must be bought for the bicycle) and there is no need to book beforehand. Services to the start and end stations are quite infrequent so consult a timetable.

There are some large hills on the seconds half of the tour. There is a 200m steep fire trail climb, and a 300m climb out of Kangaroo Valley.

A section of the described route is illegal as it travels through Waterboard land. This section begins at Diamonds Field Road, through Mt Linsey and and ends when the route joins Tourist Rd. A shorter and legal route can be found nearby along Range Road and Tourist Road.

Food can be bought at Robinson, Kangaroo Valley and Berry.
Water can be found at Robinson, Kangaroo Valey and Berry. There may be water at Yeranga Creek but it should not be relied upon.

Accomodation
Bush camping is legal anywhere in the Morton National Park.
The southern highlands and Kangaroo Valley are both popular tourist areas and have a range of (sometimes expensive) accomodation options.
