Cycling day trip from Daxi to Taipei

This scenic ride takes you from Daxi, a charming old town in Taoyuan County known for its historic streets and famous tofu, all the way to the buzzing heart of Taipei. You’ll roll northwards for just over 62 km, with a mostly gentle route—only a couple of mild climbs to keep things interesting (the highest point is around 128 meters).

Most of the journey hugs dedicated cycleways, so it’s a pretty relaxed ride, with plenty of smooth asphalt under your wheels. As you leave Daxi's riverside vibes, you’ll pass through green stretches and smaller communities, eventually merging into New Taipei’s urban sprawl before hitting the big city energy of Taipei. The route’s mostly flat, and there are a few cooling descents as you approach your destination.

Once you reach Taipei, reward yourself with some amazing food and maybe a stroll around Taipei 101 or the bustling night markets. All in all, it’s a great blend of countryside calm and city excitement—perfect for a day out!
