Cycling day trip from Daxi to Taoyuan

Set out on a relaxed ride from Daxi, a historic town famous for its charming old streets and century-old shops, and make your way north to Taoyuan City! This ~22.5 km route is a pleasant mix, with almost half winding along quiet roads, and a good portion set on dedicated cycleways—perfect for enjoying the scenery and avoiding heavy traffic.

You’ll gradually climb just over 100 meters, but nothing too steep, making it ideal for most riders. Along the way, expect plenty of rural landscapes and the occasional glimpse of lush hills typical of Taoyuan’s outskirts. Do keep in mind, the surface changes a bit, though mostly it’s solid under your tires, with a good stretch on smooth asphalt.

Arriving in Taoyuan, you’ll find yourself at the heart of a vibrant city known for its night markets and as the gateway to Taiwan’s international airport. It’s a great spot to finish your ride with a tasty snack or refreshment!
