Bikepacking from Banqiao District to Fengyuan

This ride takes you from the high-energy streets of Banqiao District, a bustling borough of New Taipei City known for its shopping and vibrant night markets, all the way down to Fengyuan in Taichung—a place famous for its lively Miaodong Night Market and local snacks like sun cakes. Over just about 201 km, this route is a real adventure, weaving together long stretches of quiet roads and bike paths with occasional dips into busier town areas.

You'll gently climb around 1,500 meters, with the highest point reaching nearly 400 meters—enough to keep things interesting! Most of the way is smooth and paved, and you'll spend a good chunk of time pedaling on tranquil cycleways, perfect for soaking in the changing scenery from urban sprawl to rural fields.

It's a big ride, but with plenty of scenic spots and local eats to enjoy at both ends, it's a memorable trek through some classic slices of Taiwan. Bring snacks, charge your phone, and enjoy the (mostly smooth) journey south!
