Bikepacking from Banqiao District to Taichung

Get ready for a truly epic ride from Banqiao District in New Taipei all the way to vibrant Taichung! Departing the busy, urban streets of Banqiao—famous for its bustling night markets and historic Lin Family Mansion—you’ll transition from cityscapes to scenic stretches as you head south through western Taiwan.

The route covers over 214 km (that’s a solid long-distance adventure!), mostly on a mix of cycleways and quiet roads. Expect to climb just over 1500 meters—so there are a few hills to keep things interesting, but nothing overwhelming. The highest point tops out at around 394 meters, granting you some sweet views along the way.

Much of the ride treats you to smooth surfaces and well-marked paths, making for a pleasant journey whether you’re touring or chasing some personal records.
