Bikepacking from Chang-hua to Tainan City

This route takes you from Chang-hua, a vibrant city known for its historic Bagua Mountain Great Buddha and the cool old-school vibes of its night markets, all the way down to Tainan City—Taiwan’s oldest city and a street-food heaven bursting with history and temples.

You’ll cruise south for about 179 km, mostly along peaceful roads and dedicated cycleways, so expect a mellow ride with only short stints on busier roads. The route is generally flat, with modest elevation gains and losses, making it a great choice for a steady day (or two!) in the saddle.

As you roll into Tainan, reward yourself with a bowl of local beef soup or try the famous danzai noodles.
