Cycling day trip from Chang-hua to Fengyuan

This ride starts in Changhua, a city known for its famous Baguashan Buddha and delicious local snacks. You’ll head north over roughly 38 kilometers, with gentle climbing (about 383 meters ascend) and mostly friendly roads – nearly 80% of which are cycleways or quiet roads, so it’s a pretty relaxed trip for riders of most levels.

As you make your way toward Fengyuan, expect a few rolling hills and lovely rural views—the paved surfaces should keep things smooth, but do be ready for a little bit of mixed surfaces as not everywhere is perfectly paved. Fengyuan is a lively district in Taichung, known for its bustling night market and tasty Fengyuan cakes—well worth a post-ride treat.

All in all, it’s a pleasant way to link two interesting spots in central Taiwan, with plenty of opportunity to take in the scenery and local culture along the way.
