Cycling day trip from Suwon-si to Osan

Kick off your ride in Suwon, a vibrant city famous for its UNESCO-listed Hwaseong Fortress and tasty fried chicken. The route south to Osan covers just under 26 kilometers, making it a solid couple of hours on the bike, but nothing too crazy for a relaxed day out.

Most of your journey (over half!) cruises along proper cycleways, with the rest on quiet roads—perfect for a chill and safe ride. You’ll roll over gentle hills, tackling about 190 meters of ascent and soaking in a touch more descent before gliding into Osan, a city known for its open markets and proximity to Osan Air Base.

The surface is mostly a mystery, but expect stretches of smooth asphalt here and there, and bring a bit of flexibility for the rest. Take your time, enjoy the change from Suwon’s urban buzz to Osan’s quieter pace, and maybe reward yourself with a stop at a local café or bakery at the finish!
