Cycling day trip from Seoul to Hanam

Roll out from central Seoul (near City Hall) and glide down to Cheonggyecheon to pick up the Hangang riverside path heading east. It’s a near-continuous cycleway, smooth asphalt and concrete, with just a few quiet-road links. You’ll cruise past Seongsu’s cafes, Ttukseom Hangang Park, and skyline views featuring Lotte World Tower, then on through Gwangnaru and Amsa’s riverside parks.

The ride is about 39.9 km with gentle rolling sections (max around 119 m), so it’s steady rather than hilly. As you cross into Hanam’s Misa area, keep an eye out for the Misari rowing course—part of the 1988 Seoul Olympics legacy. Hanam also hosts the giant Starfield Hanam mall if you need a snack stop, and it’s the gateway to Paldang Dam and the Namhan River if you want to tack on extra kilometers.

Good to know: weekends can get busy on the river path; watch the tight underpass curves and occasional headwinds. There are plenty of convenience stores and water taps in the parks. If you like a quick culture detour, the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement Site sits just off the route.
