Cycling day trip from Guri-si to Uijeongbu-si

This scenic ride takes you from Guri-si, a city just east of Seoul known for its beautiful Hangang riverside parks, all the way north to Uijeongbu-si, famous for its culinary scene (especially budae jjigae) and as a gateway to the Bukhansan mountains.

You’ll cover nearly 47 km, mostly on smooth, dedicated cycleways, so it’s pretty stress-free riding. The route winds northward, skirting the edge of the Han River, with just enough gentle climbing (around 280 meters of ascent) to keep things interesting without turning it into a slog. Expect a bit of variety as you pass through quieter roads and suburban stretches – perfect for a relaxed pace.

Along the way, soak in the glimpses of local life, riverside views, and maybe even stop for a coffee at a riverside cafe. With Guri-si starting to buzz with new riverside developments and Uijeongbu-si offering mountain air and hearty eats at the finish, it’s a great urban-to-suburban cycling adventure. Don’t forget: with most of the route on paved cycleways, it’s smooth rolling almost the whole way!
