Cycling day trip from Seongnam-si to Guri-si

Roll out from Seongnam-si and hop onto the Tancheon bike path—Seongnam’s signature greenway—then cruise north along the stream past sports fields and shady willows. When Tancheon meets the Han River near Jamsil, you’ll spot the skyline (hello, Lotte World Tower) before swinging east on the broad riverside cycleway toward Guri. It’s mostly flat and fast with a few gentle ramps; about 33 km overall and almost entirely on separated bike paths, so it’s a relaxed, scenic spin. Expect smooth asphalt and plenty of spots to top up water at convenience stores and park facilities.

As you near Guri, Achasan’s ridgeline comes into view and the path opens to long, breezy straights. Finish at Guri-si, gateway to Achasan hiking and home to Donggureung—the largest cluster of Joseon royal tombs and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you’ve got time, detour to Guri Traditional Market for classic street snacks. Tip: the Han can get windy and busy on weekends, so pick quieter hours for the best flow.
