Cycling day trip from Granada to Huétor Vega

Set off on this scenic ride starting in the heart of Granada—famous for its stunning Alhambra Palace and vibrant old town streets. This route takes you south to the charming hillside village of Huétor Vega, a quieter spot popular with locals for its neighborhood tapas bars and views of the Sierra Nevada.

You’ll cover about 21 km, mostly on paved and asphalt surfaces, winding through a mix of dedicated cycleways, quiet roads, and the occasional busy stretch. There’s a gentle climb out of Granada (around 150 meters of ascent), but the views of the rolling Andalusian countryside more than make up for the effort.

As you approach Huétor Vega, you’ll notice a more relaxed, small-town vibe compared to Granada’s urban buzz—perfect for a post-ride drink or snack. With most of the ride on good surfaces and plenty of scenery, this is an enjoyable route for an active afternoon.
