Cycling day trip from Granada to Capileira

This ride is a true adventure—from the Moorish heart of Granada all the way to the whitewashed mountain haven of Capileira in the Alpujarras. You’ll leave the famed Alhambra behind and pedal south, swapping city vibes for rural Andalusian charm and (lots of) epic mountain scenery.

The route clocks in at just over 105 km with a seriously challenging 4,400m of climbing—expect your legs to notice! Terrain gets rugged fast: about half your journey is on tracks and another big chunk is unpaved or gravel, so pack your adventure bike or a gravel rig. The payoff? Panoramas of the Sierra Nevada, quiet farm paths, olive groves, and maybe even a glimpse of Spain’s highest peaks.
