Quick ride by bicycle from Wembley to Bayswater

Roll out from Wembley—home to the iconic stadium arch and the SSE Arena—and head southeast on mostly quiet streets before dropping onto the Grand Union Canal towpath around Alperton. From here it’s a relaxed, near‑flat cruise alongside the water to Little Venice, with houseboats, bridges, and a few narrow bits by the locks. Keep an eye out for pedestrians on the towpath and a couple of short tunnels; lights help.

From Little Venice, weave through calm Maida Vale backstreets to Bayswater. You’ll finish among elegant white-stucco terraces, minutes from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, with plenty of coffee and food options on Queensway and Westbourne Grove.

The ride is about 13.5 km and mostly paved—expect a mix of smooth asphalt and some paving stones near the canal. With over half the route on cycleways and very gentle elevation, it’s a friendly spin for most riders. Great as a scenic city link or an easy weekend outing.
