Quick ride by bicycle from Kimberley to Nottingham

Set off from Kimberley—a lovely old mining town with some nice views and a surprising number of pubs—and take a roughly 14 km spin into the heart of Nottingham. This route feels mostly easy: you’ll drop more than you climb overall, and the max elevation’s a breezy 115 meters.

Expect to spend most of your ride on quiet roads and cycleways, making for a relaxed journey with just the occasional foray onto gravel or unpaved surfaces (nothing too wild, though—there’s only a small stretch of that). Along the way, you’ll get a bit of everything: green pockets, some classic British lanes, and glimpses of old railway lines.

Roll into Nottingham—Robin Hood’s legendary stomping ground and a buzzing city with enough coffee shops, culture, and castle history to keep you busy if you fancy a pit stop. Not a bad way to spend a day out on the bike!
