Quick ride by bicycle from Hinwil to Nänikon / Nänikon (Dorfkern)

This scenic cycling route takes you from Hinwil to the cozy village core of Nänikon, covering just over 16 kilometers—perfect for a relaxed half-day outing. Starting in Hinwil, known as the gateway to the Zurich Oberland and famous for its historic train station and proximity to the motorsport mecca, the "Motodrom," you'll soon leave the bustle behind.

Most of the ride is smooth sailing: around 93% is paved, with long stretches of asphalt. You’ll cruise along quiet paths and country roads, with barely a bit of gentle gravel to keep things interesting. The 72 meters of gentle climbing are easily outweighed by the whoosh of nearly 188 meters of descent—so there are more breezy downhills than tough slogs.

As you roll into Nänikon, part of Uster’s municipality, take in the atmosphere of the old village center. It’s a nice spot to stretch, grab a snack, or simply enjoy the rural Swiss character just a stone’s throw from Zürich.
