Bikepacking from Flushing to Sluis

Set off from the lively port town of Flushing (Vlissingen), famous for its sandy beaches and maritime history, and cruise south through Zeeland’s flat and breezy landscapes to charming Sluis. This route covers a good stretch—almost 197 km—mostly along dedicated cycleways (about 85%) with smooth asphalt beneath your wheels for the majority of the ride.

You’ll pedal past classic Dutch sights: fields, dykes, and sleepy villages. The ride is a breeze when it comes to hills, since ascent and descent are gentle, and the highest point barely reaches 17 meters! You’ll cross several bridges and maybe even catch a glimpse of the sea.

Take your time to enjoy a break in small towns along the way—think terassen (outdoor cafés) and friendly locals. Arriving in Sluis, reward yourself with a wander through its historic center, famous for its medieval city gate and delightful shops.
