Cycling day trip from Schagen to Den Helder

This ride takes you from the cozy town of Schagen up to the seaside city of Den Helder—a nearly 30 km adventure mostly along smooth, dedicated cycle paths and quiet roads. Schagen, famed for its historic market square and annual West Frisian folklore days, is a relaxed spot to settle into your saddle and set off north.

You’ll pedal through open Dutch countryside, catching glimpses of windmills, grazing sheep, and endless horizons. With barely any hills, this route is a breeze, making it perfect for both casual riders and families.
