By bicycle from Landsmeer to Zaandijk

This relaxed ride takes you from Landsmeer, a peaceful village just north of Amsterdam known for its watery landscapes and proximity to the nature reserve Het Twiske, all the way to Zaandijk, a charming town nestled on the Zaan river. You'll cover just under 14 km, cruising along mostly smooth cycle paths (the Netherlands at its best!), with only a handful of gentle rises—so it's perfect for any level of cyclist.

About half the route meanders through open countryside where the surface may switch between paved roads and natural paths, so a sturdy city or hybrid bike is recommended. Zaandijk awaits at the finish, famous for its traditional green wooden houses and as a gateway to the iconic Zaanse Schans windmills and museums. It's an easygoing ride with a dash of Dutch history at either end!
